If the public was honestly and truthfully informed about the effects of second-hand smoke, there would be fewer no-smoking laws in this country. A little smoke from a handful of crushed leaves and some paper that is mixed with the air of a decently ventilated venue is going to harm or kill you?
There has never been a single study showing that exposure to the low levels of smoke found in bars and restaurants with decent modern ventilation and filtration systems kills or harms anyone.
As to the annoyance of smoking, a compromise between smokers and non-smokers can be reached, through setting a quality standard and the use of modern ventilation technology.
Air ventilation can easily create a comfortable environment that removes not just passive smoke, but also and especially the potentially serious contaminants that are independent from smoking.

The controversy of second hand smoke could be ended quickly by a simple act of legislation. Anyone presenting information represented as science or health reliant information, which is later found to be false or misleading, would be rewarded with a mandatory ten year jail sentence.
I can guarantee the bandwagon of smoker hatred would end overnight and the profiteers would be making deals in self preservation convicting each other. Similar to the last time their ilk rose to prominence and Doctors were hanged at Nuremberg. The laws of Autonomy created in the wake, are largely being minimized by the bigots and zealots of Public Healthism, they are laws we found at the expense of millions who died without them. No one has the right to make health choices for others and no one has a right to demand rights to the detriment of others, especially with the convenience of a lie, as we find in the “toxic effect of second hand smoke”.

Do the owners in the hospitality sector have a 'right' to use or permit a legal product on 'private' property without the interference from the government or special interest groups??

What if the governments mandated that all currently smoke-free hospitality venues MUST provide a smoking section to accommodate smokers, against the wishes of business owners who choose to go smoke-free of their own free will? That wouldn't be fair, would it? Neither are government mandated smoking bans. Thomas Laprade

Owners can put a sign in their door:
'This is a smoking venue.'
'This is a non-smoking venue.'
This solution gives owners and the public choices.
Isn't this is what America is all about??

I have found what I feel is a good pairing. I really like the Partagas Black and a strong dark lager- Shiner Black Bohemian Lager. I feel they really go well together, especially on a hot Texas evening.

Well as another way the pleasure police have to get us criminal smokers out thier hair , companies like mine are measuring the level of cotinine in our blood, cotinine is what nicotine breaks down to in your blood stream in my case they said immediatly I was going from the best plan to the "betterplan" translation from no deductable to big deductable after some objections and a few comments like does one drink then make me alcoholic i agreed to take a smoking sessation clinic that will allow me to stay in the best plan. here is the kicker the nice nurse that i talked to told me that after 72 hrs it leaves my bloodstreram all together, so next year when it is qualifing time again i will lay off the cigars for about a week and it should all be gone, she also said that people who around smokers will have an increased level of cotinine but can get retested. Miss Kitty Please FWD this to the General

Often those on the losing side of a argument are willing to create the facts to make them appear right. Unfortunately the uneducated media is unable to read on their own and rely on the pleasure police to explain all things. I find the fact that the gentle smooth smoke of cigars causes in me a heightened immunity to my allergens allowing clear breathing to up to 18 hours a side effect that was not expected but well received.

I don't know if it matters or not but, if memory serves me correct... the General had bestowed upon me the Isla de Cuba Blend 376 and not the Padron 6000. I would be happy either way, personally. Anything the Padron family creates is a wonderful exercise in cigar enjoyment. I would just hate for someone who is expecting them to not get them. So you may want to double check. Tight Lines (fellow fishermen) and Long Ashes to all. God Bless.

Well so far only brandy, but i find that depending on the time of day some of brewed liquer de juan valdez goes good with a cigar, and on a warm hight a tall glass of Motor City Champagne over ice a.k.a. Vernors Ginger Ale on the rocks went great with a Playboy Toro last night.

I like good coffee in the morning with a rubusto to a corona usually in a natural or claro, in the afternoon I like something cool and crisp with a Gorda or maybe a double corona and for sure a little more tastier like a maduro, but after dinner I really like to punch in flavor I will sit down with a good blended scotch, port or sherry and I want a good size cigar like a Churchill in a double maduro or escuro(the darkest of wrappers) and enjoy the luxuaries of life... Boys don't forget to check us out at www.thehamptonbaycigarclub.com and remember to come out and check out the finest gentlemens cigar club.

well i prefer the larger ring gauges 48 and up and lengths from 5.25 up to 7.00 or churchill, don't really get excited about odd shaped cigars just looking for a stick with great flavor and one that will last awhile,I will be trying the Rocky Patel Wafe soon which goes against what i said about odd shapes but we are talking about a Patel he could make a cigar look like a Rubiks Cube and i would smoke it.

I like all different shapes and sizes of cigars! I think when someone starts out or is a little uneducated with cigars you tend to pigeon hole yourself in manufacturers or size, shapes and colors. Big mistake different sizes and variety of smoking cigars is what will elevate you to be a true aficionado. most of the true old cigar men in the world will tell you the larger the cigar the less control and consistency you will have in that cigar so most of the old cubans stick to Rubusto's! which is a great one hour cigar but I like a cigar for the occasion. Try them all boyz you may surprise yourself's, its not all about babysteps.
